Breakaway Training
Privacy Policy

Breakaway Training ("Breakaway", "we") is a training log and planning app for endurance athletes, available on iPhone and the web. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
What we collect
- Account details. Your name and email address from Sign in with Apple or Google, and an internal account ID. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email", we only receive the relay address.
- Training data from services you connect. When you connect Garmin Connect, Strava, COROS, Suunto or TrainingPeaks, we import your activities (type, date, distance, duration, pace, elevation, calories, laps and splits), heart rate data, GPS routes, planned workouts, and, from Garmin, sleep and heart-rate-variability data. We store the access tokens needed to keep syncing.
- Information you enter. Planned workouts, races and race plans, gear, effort ratings, comments, and optional body metrics (weight, height, birth year, sex), calendar feed links and race-result profile links.
- Location. GPS routes of your activities come from your connected services. On iPhone, if you allow it, the app uses your device's approximate location on your device to show local weather through Apple WeatherKit; we don't send your device location to our servers. If you set a ZIP code on the web, we store it to provide weather forecasts.
- Device push token. If you allow notifications, we store your device's push token so we can tell you about new comments and analyzed workouts.
We don't use advertising or analytics SDKs, and we don't collect your contacts, photos or browsing history. The app does not read Apple Health.
How we use it
Only to run the app for you: syncing and displaying your training, calculating training load and statistics, comparing completed workouts with your plan, sending workouts to your watch when you ask, sharing your training with coaches you invite, and sending the notifications you've turned on.
Who we share it with

We may disclose information if required by law. If Breakaway is ever acquired, this policy continues to apply to your data.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. When you disconnect a service, we delete its stored access tokens and stop syncing from it. You can delete your account in the app under Settings, Delete Account, which deletes your account and training data right away. Deletion requests sent by email are completed within 30 days. We keep nothing afterwards unless the law requires it.
Your choices
- Turn off location or notifications at any time in iOS Settings.
- Turn AI features on or off in the app under Settings, AI & Training Features.
- Disconnect any connected service in Settings.
- Delete your account in the app under Settings, Delete Account.
- Ask for a copy of your data or a correction by emailing support@startbreakaway.com.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and access to our database is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so we'll notify you if a breach affects your data.
Children
Breakaway isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
